New Blog in Town
There is a new blog out called Modify Tradition modifytradition.blogspot.com/ that is shaping up to be very informative. They are showing new and modern ways to use traditional quilt blocks through use of prints or color, or just rethinking the shape of the block. Check it out if you have a minute, there's lots of good information, and inspiration. I think you'll like it.

Giveaway results
Well, yesterday was the last day of the Blogger's Quilt Festival. There were about 683 bloggers posting their quilts. Luckily, the links will remain so we can continue to check them out. I wonder if anyone actually visited every blog posted during the festival? I know I will be checking them out for some time to come. I love seeing so many creative people sharing their projects.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by and looked at my quilt, and thanks for your lovely comments. Now on to the important business. The "RANDOM GENERATOR" (see pic below, he loves putting his hand in and pulling the winner) says the winner is......... RENE'!!! I'll send you a confirmation email today and look for the package to be heading your way this week.

Blogger's Quilt Festival
Today marks the beginning of the Blogger's Quilt festival

organized by Amy of Park City Girl. It's a great opportunity to meet some new people, and get a whole lot of quilt inspiration. Click on the button at the right and check it out for yourself. You might even want to join in and show off a quilt yourself. Oh, and did I mention prizes? Click! All the info is there.
Here is my entry.

It is not a newly finished quilt, but it is one of my favorites. I made it about 8 years ago, and after my daughter hung it in her house for a while, I reclaimed it. It now hangs in a bedroom in my house, and it never fails to make me smile. It was the beginning of making bright and modern quilts for me. Right now I have 8 or 9 quilt tops that are awaiting quilting, or almost finished. Hopefully next time around I'll have some finished.
Oh, and if you leave a comment on this blog, you will be entered to win the cute little tote bag shown below. It's made from linen and vintage sheet fabrics. Just little extra giveaway. Good Luck!

Block #2
I said I'd show you #2 today so here it is.

We are doing 4 kinds of wonky blocks in this quilt along,The "standard" wonky log cabin block, Wonky quarter log cabin block, Wonky squares-in-squares,and Wonky "bento box"-like block. Yesterdays block was the wonky log cabin. Today's is the wonky quarter log cabin. It's not my favorite, but 4 together are kinda nice. Tommorrow I'll show you #3. And if you'd like to, join along with us, or stop by and see all the great blocks and quilts.

TIME FLIES
Boy does time fly. Things have been so busy around here lately. Business in the shop has picked up quite a bit. And at 19 months old, the boy is quite a handful. Pretty much my days are taken up with entertaining him, while mom and dad are at work. If I'm really lucky, he'll take a nap. And occasionally, a bowl of yogurt, ( he thinks it's ice cream) and "Jack's Big Music Show" will entertain him for 30 minutes. Then it's fix dinner, do dishes, and a load of laundry. After that I get orders ready to mail, and it's bed time. I have managed to squeak out 1 block per week for the ORBQ wonky block quilt along that John "Quilt Dad" is hosting. Too bad I have yet to quilt my zig zag from last months quilt along. Oh well, one can dream. Here's a look at the first block, Wonky Log Cabin.

I'll show you #2 Tomorrow.
